EYELINER TATTOO

Eyeliner tattoo is a type of permanent makeup procedure that places pigment along the top and/or bottom eyelashes to define the eyes and gives an illusion of a thicker, darker and fuller lashes. Similar to any other tattoo, eyeliner pigment is injected with a tattoo needle into the skin of the eyelid. Unlike body tattoos, the needle is only depositing ink into the first layer of the skin.

What is a cosmetic Tattoo: A cosmetic tattoo is a semi-permanent tattoo. We use a machine operated need to insert specialised pigments into the upper layer of the skin, right below the epidermis.

How long does eyeliner tattoos last: 2-5 years before needing a colour boost. Results vary from client to client.

Pain Relief: The pain level for eyeliner tattoo is normally 0-4 out of 10, with 10 being most painful. A topical anaesthetic will be supplied through our pharmacist. Topical anaesthetic products can be very helpful to remain comfortable for cosmetic tattooing. Lidocaine and tetracaine block sodium ion channels which are required for the initiation and conduction of neuronal impulses. This results in local anaesthesia. When the pre-numb cream is applied to intact skin before the procedure it travels through the skin and provides its full action in around 30 minutes (although it begins to work in as little as 10 minutes).

ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT
  • The eyeliner will start to form scabs and they might look dark and thick. As the skin heals, the scabs will fall off in random pieces throughout the eyeline and might look patchy.
  • Flaking and crusting on eyes may occurAvoid pulling off the scabs that are dried out on the lashesWhen you try to pull off the scabs that are hanging on your lashes, ensure the scabs are soft enough to slide off from the lashes.
AFTERCARE
  • Healing takes about 7 – 10 days
  • The colour becomes much softer and fades 30 – 50% lighter
  • Swelling and redness is normal for the first few days.
  • Slight stinging sensation in the first few days is also normal.

The colour will fade approximately 30-50% when the scab peels off, this is completely normal. Do not feel discouraged if the fading is more than you expected. To achieve the perfect eyeliner, we need to see how your skin accepts the initial application and a touch-up appointment is where we will perfect the shape and colour.

No eye make-up is allowed until the scabbing is completely peeled off.

Avoid cleansing products around the eyesWater contact is allowed 5 hours after the procedure.
* A follow-up touch-up is usually necessary and can be completed around 5 weeks from the initial appointment.
